Super cute! And actually really, really funny too! The humor and character design is absolutely great in here. I don't think I've ever laughed more while reading a Doug TenNapel book.
This was very simplified in the theme, plot, character development, and even character names, but this was based off of a 90's video game that was slapped together for comedy and fun. Yes, this delves a little deeper into forming reasons and relationships to explain some of the adorable nonsense, but not nearly as deep as most of TenNapel’s other works (Nnewts, Cardboard, and Flink being among my favorites).
But I'm fine with that. This was hilarious and beautiful to look at and well worth the pledge at the Kickstarter. Recommend if you're in the mood for a laugh.
