The enneagram is a great tool for understanding ourselves and others, and this book takes on the task of using the enneagram to show us how to "grow". The author delves into what types of childhood *could* have produced each enneagram type, shares the weakness of that type, and then reveals a path to growth (away from those weaknesses).

I enjoyed this book because I enjoy the enneagram. I didn't find any new info in this book beyond what I already knew, though. Also- Heads-up for nonreligious folks- this book is pretty soaked in religious language. ("Does God want you to be afraid?" "Is this part of God's larger plan for your life?" etc etc). That being said, the right person will enjoy this book.

My thanks to the author, publisher, and #NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC. #TheStoryOfYou

Pretty solid book with a lot of helpful advice and insights! A bit heavy handed on the god element for me but it's not solely dependent on it so it really doesn't have a great impact on the reading of the book! Many references to musical artists I have never in my life heard of so that may have fallen a bit flat for me but the points were all still incredibly relevant and I came away from it with a greater understanding of myself for the most part. There were elements that didn't quite fit (for instance I am an absolute 4 but I do not throw people away when they do not reach my standards. If anything I stay to my own detriment.) Makes sense- it's not one size fits all - so I gleaned what was relevant and adjusted the rest.

Excellent book. I have read the enneagram books that are mentioned in this one as well. The thing I liked about this one and that set it apart for me was that it explained how you became your number.

Really only read the chapter on my enneagram (type three) but it certainly did splay me open and give me an accurate reading on my problems and lies I tell myself

I was quite excited for this book and the beginning was interesting but quickly went downhill. The information could have been organized different and/or provided better distinction between the enneagrams because i definitely started thinking I’m all of the enneagrams. Or maybe that was intentional so it would convince you to buy a test off Cron’s site to see which one you are. I did also feel like this book named dropped a bit too much, and the book felt like a marketing tool for his other products.
