The second book in a trilogy always ends badly but I couldn’t help but hope everything would work out for them 😭

This is such a tense and action packed story that it's hard to figure out how you feel about it. Especially when so much happens in the last 100 pages.

I feel like Taristan and Corayne had similar enough childhoods and yet they both came out of it differently. They both had the ability to overcome everything that they went through but one of them let it consume them and make them spiteful and the other did not. One of them was broken by their childhood and the other let it make them stronger.

I love the tad bit of budding romance that we see between Andry and Corayne and I think we see a little bit of something happening between Dom and Sorsa but I guess we will see what becomes of that. I also don't mind the romance between Erida and Taristan they are both hateful people that deserve each other.

Voltik is still my favorite character and I love her nonsense. And how she just seems to turn up when she's needed but disappears when she's not. She's like ever cookie grandmother in disney movies that every one loves.

I hope that Corayne isn't left alone like the cliff hanger makes it seems. She's lost so much in her life that I'm not sure how much more she can take without breaking. As well as I don't think that she deserves either.

I can't wait to see what the next book brings us.
