3.5 again for book 2. This picks up right where the first left off and continued in the same pace and direction; closing spindles and making allies.
I read the book pretty steadily; it held my attention well. I’m just not loving it. I’m needing more. Maybe it’s romance or some kind of relationship that isn’t from the bad guys. Maybe it’s more details of the characters before the quest but something is missing and I’m not sure what. I’m not connected to any character in particular and I also don’t feel like I know them all that well either.
Either way I’ve read over 1000 pages of this and I’m not done yet. Maybe the final book will give me the depth and connection I’m craving.
