For more than a year, women have been recommending [a:Jodi Picoult|7128|Jodi Picoult|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1198341937p2/7128.jpg] books to me and I didn't understand why they were so popular amongst so many people. Anyway, I friend recently lent me a few of her books and I pulled this one off the shelf one night and decided to read it. I assure you, I was not disappointed and soon came to realize what the interest in [a:Jodi Picoult|7128|Jodi Picoult|http://photo.goodreads.com/authors/1198341937p2/7128.jpg] is.

This book told such a human and complicated story about a family. It gripped me right from the beginning, which is not something that most books can do. The story was not only intriguing, but also interesting and well thought out. Even after the disappointing ending (which I did not see coming, by the way), I still felt that this was a really great book. It was heartfelt in every way and sort of reminded me of what it is like to be human. And I agree with Picoult on how the surprise ending was actually necessary in order to paint the full picture. I am looking forward to reading the next book on loan, [b:Plain Truth|14864|Plain Truth|Jodi Picoult|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1166668457s/14864.jpg|3375925].

I would have given this book 5 stars had I not cried every night I read it. The emotions were so raw and unabated. Even though I could guess the ending, I still bawled my eyes out after finishing the story. You feel for each character throughout this book. The struggles each character faces morally and emotionally is tiresome at times, but always intriguing. I can understand why Picoult won awards for this book. I recommend this book to everyone along with a box of tissues.

kul med ny bokklubb!!

Its not iron lung Campbell has - maybe his condition makes him more interested in the case?

Olika typsnitt för olika karaktärer?

Gråtit innan sida 60 (when the family starts talking about the lawsuit), 450 (when the lawsuit is river) och slutet

You dont have to do this if you dont want but we are counting on you - snacka om härskartekniker mot ett barn!

När listade ni ut att det var Kate som frågade henne?

Väldigt orättvist slut :((

This is a book that's hard to put down. Easy, quick read but leaves you wondering if there are rights and wrongs in every situation. Makes you question where you stand. It was an interesting read and fun to talk about with a group.
