Overall a good smut free period romance. I really enjoyed the characters and the description of the island.
I was planning to read more from this series but I got very annoyed when the main character went from mentioning God a handful of times to becoming an extremely faith driven woman overnight. It was a little heavy handed and the last 1/3 of the book the FMC became almost insufferable.
I was also annoyed at the "turning on the fan" when this all seemed to be before the invention of electricity. There were a few small things like that took me out of the fantasy.
It was a quick read and overall rather light-hearted with happy endings for several characters that I did enjoy

First book I've read by Lorri and loved every minute. Would definitely read again. Great characters and well written story.

For the most part, I think I would rate this book 3.5 stars, but I guess, I enjoyed it more as the book went on.
The first part of the book I found quite slow and boring if I'm honest.
Georgia was a fun character, I loved the dynamics with her and Harrison - There were some really comical moments there. Max was adorable.
I also liked the way Georgia got to know her father again, and her father getting to know her and the rest of the family again.
The quote that stood out for me, was "God's grace is more powerful than any mistake you've ever made or ever could make. He will meet you where you are, or if need be, He will pursue you to a far off island. He's relentless in His desire for you"
I read this via KU. I have downloaded books 1-3 of this series, but I don't think it is a continuing series with the same characters etc. I may come back to the series at some point, but not just yet.

I enjoyed these characters; we meet a father who has to face mistakes he's made, a duke running away from his past, a woman caught up in society but courageously confronts her challenges and comes to know herself better. Forgiveness is a central theme as the story comes full circle in a fantastic ending.

This was my first story from the author and looking forward to picking up the next one! I'd encourage you to grab it if you enjoy regency era fiction and a strong gospel message.
