- “An investigator must solve a brutal murder on a claustrophobic space station in this tense science fiction thriller.”

- This was a pretty solid space horror/thriller! Sure, at some points I felt like a lot of technical information, history, and world-building was being thrown at me, but I think that’s just part of the genre that I have yet to get used to. Other than that, this was a fun read with lots of tension, twists, and scary AI put to dangerous uses.

Again, more a thriller than horror, though maybe space horror is mostly space thriller with claustrophobia? It is a cracking thriller, though, fast-paced with great characters, and though I saw the twist coming when it finally arrived it fely more like a high five than a let down.

Bit of a mixed bag. Really enjoyed some things, other parts were a bit slow. Overall, it was a quick read and I liked the combination of mystery & sci-fi.

I am realizing Space horror/ thriller is my jam. Grief, Anger, AI and Space Capitalism.
Reading about AI and their growth is really interesting in our year of 2024.

Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I don't often read sci-fi, but this truly set the bar high for any future books that I read in this genre. The relationships between the characters managed to hook me more than the actual murder mystery many times, which is saying something!

Overall I really enjoyed this story but the ending just wrapped up too quickly for my taste. Wish there'd been even just a few more chapters to explain what happened.
