I think I picked the first book in her series. That is my goal this year - to find new authors (to me) and read the first books in their series, and then read their older works and see the difference - if there is any. I actually got the idea when I got the 82 Agatha Christie book set. I saw Darcy Coates's series at Barnes and Noble and I was like, whoa; I like scary stuff; I like haunted old houses! And so I read this one. It was a little tough starting out. I knew that the main character would change from a weak one to a strong one. That's what good books do! I love the cat and he surprised me at the end! I love Edith and I love the friends. I can't give away too much, but I honestly couldn't put it down - I know that is cliche - but it's true. It's just a fun read. Can't wait to read the next one!

Was very boring and the main character read way too old for being in her early 20s.
