Ok, not the best thriller I've ever read but I love this female main character. She is definitely on the spectrum. I like that she's this amazing child prodigy turned FBI agent but also sucks so hard at regular human interaction sometimes. She's not perfect like a lot of fantasy FMCs. There were some random red herrings that didn't get fleshed out other than to say "look over here!" and I did find some of the big twists pretty predictable (e.g., Huck not really being involved, the "blonde" not being Abby) but I still did not guess the ending and had a fun time geneally. Excited to keep reading as it seems to only get better. 3.4

I enjoyed this book overall, but the one character was so annoying/creepy that I am not sure I can continue with the series.  That being said, I think the character was well done it's just that I disliked her that much.  It took me a bit to figure out who the killer was and I enjoyed the way the relationships evolved throughout the book.
the character was Abagail.

I love finding a new series to read. Laurel Snow is a brilliant FBI agent/profiler (although she doesn't like the identifier). When she is called to her hometown of Genesis Valley, WA to solve a series of murders, she finds out some interesting things about herself, namely a half-sister she never knew about, Dr. Abigail Caine. Additionally, Huck Rivers, a handsome fish and wildlife officer is partnered with her on the murder cases, and Laurel is very attracted to him.
Laurel's uncle is suspected in these murders, but Laurel doesn't believe it. However, she has to keep her personal feelings buried so she can do her job.
As Laurel discovers more about her own life, she comes into a dangerous situation with the killer.
Good start to a new romantic suspense series!

This book was decent. I did listen to the audio book and thought the narration was well done. It was my mistake thinking this book was more like the author's Deep Ops series, which I loved.

I wouldn't have categorized this book as a romantic suspense. It seemed to be more of a thriller to me. If Huck and Laurel were supposed to be the romance in this book, their burn was so slow, it wasn't even creating a spark.

At the start of the story, Laurel came across as socially inept, according to her report back to her boss. As I got further into the book, I didn't get the same sense.

Maybe Laurel and the clothes issue was supposed to be quirky. I just wanted girlfriend to go to a big box store, a retail outlet, a consignment shop, a second hand store, or even Goodwill or the Salvation Army and find her own clothes.

There were a number of possible suspects in this book. One of them being Abigail. I do have to say that I found Abigail to be extremely irritating and manipulative.

I also understood Laurel was working on a limited budget, but the kids doing research seemed more than a bit farfetched.

There were a couple of interesting twists. I admit, I did not have a handle on the actual serial killer. The motive that was given left something to be desired, and had me feeling like there were loose threads when it was all said and done.

I wish the police chief issue had been addressed. I also wondered about the guy who was in jail for the first murder. There are a few other questions that I had, but mentioning them would have me including spoilers.

I still found this to be an entertaining read.

I love thrillers and I have been looking for a new series to read. You Can Run is a great thriller that follows the life of FBI agent Laurel Snow. She comes home to Genesis Valley because there is a serial killer and the suspect is her uncle. The plot twists and the development in the story was freaking amazing. I couldn't go to bed at night because the story was amazing. I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
