where do i start. this is firmly a 3 star book but i had to drop it down cos it actually really annoyed me. main character is unbearable at times and the dropping in of random chemistry just had me irritated because it was so performative. surprised this was written by a woman because it felt so unrealistic for a woman's thoughts? idk. i also disagree with the quotes on the front - does not spark joy (annoying and sad - had to stop reading it in public at one point in case i started crying) and was very easy to put down. the bulk of it was fine but last 25% maybe was just not good in my opinion, got was too messy. also --- only like ten percent of the book is what you're expecting it to be about, i found it odd that everything points to that being the main focus.
