Omg, I loved this book!

I absolutely loved that it wasn't just some instant "I love you" book.
This book was sweet and heartwrenching at the same time!

Great picture of how it sometimes is, when everyone around you isn't supportive.

Major Mommie-issues - but that's a talk for another time.

I love this book Morgan is such a dense idiot though, and I found it unlikely that such an active lesbian in the community would even consider
outing someone and would definitely consider that they don't want to come out to a unaccepting mother.

CUTE!!! I love a classic YA sapphic love story, with some enemies-to-lovers mixed in, and the character development was *relatively* well done.
I enjoyed the pageant queen but actually women in stem storyline, but I felt like the amount of times her mom’s connection to pageantry was explained was, at least slightly, overdone.
I think the storyline is an important one for people to read, but
there also needs to be an understanding that no character in this book is a wholly good person (like the way Morgan acted is very hard to forgive for readers and should have been harder for the characters)

This book was adorable and an absolutely wonderful start to my 2022. I now claim Sporty queers as my niche because DAMN I had myself falling for Miss. ‘Heart on Her Sleeve’ Matthews. This book was beautiful and so comforting and soft. The only reason I didn’t rate it 5 stars is I felt a few of the more toxic elements (abuse and relationships alike) were glossed over to get closer to that beautiful ending. I would’ve liked to see a bit more closure and a bit more development and screen time of the side characters. But overall, I still really really loved this! And them! In all their dorky glory, I will be reading more from this author very soon <3
