I think I'll like it more if I ever read more. It was fine. Art ok, colors good. Kept me entertained. Intriguing enough. Not a personal wowzer.

Cool and weird. It's hook mostly works for me, and then it doesn't. And at some point the story itself should actually start, rather than having layers and layers of coolness. Snippets are really good, like a half an issue. I'm actually reading this from the omnibus and it is very heavy. I kind of want to re-read this to figure out what I missed. And it is such a fast read, I probably could. 3.5 of 5.

I have been able to read the end of the series, but what I have read was terrific, a spin on the old pulp novel characters and the comics characters from my youth.

An awesome send-up of several pop culture tropes, though may confuse people who are not familiar with the specific fandoms referenced

Finally went back to the beginning of Planetary and read through to the end, because by the time the last issue of the series came out, I could barely remember anything. Good, but very meta-superhero, and Warren Ellis sometimes enjoys trying to be outrageous a little too much for me to be either outraged or entertained.

The book that singlehandedly got me back into comics in 2001, and still Ellis' best work to date. Metacommentary on the entire 20th century of comics, film, fiction that still functions as a great superhero/detective book on the surface level. Outstanding.
