I am not a big sci-fi reader, but this book was so good. The characters are well fleshed out. They aren’t one sided, we can see them evolve as the story goes. But it’s not at the detriment of the story. It’s full of adventures and mysteries. I loved the little snippets of mythologies and thoughts at the end of each chapter. It really helped understand the story and understand some revelations. On the other hand, it felt like some points might not be pushed enough. Like a bit more details here and there would have been perfect. But I think it might be what make the book so easy to read if you want to start reading sci-fi. I can’t wait to read the next adventure of Obi and Asha.

The ideas were so interesting, but ultimately the execution missed the mark. It all felt messy, the pacing was off, and I ended up skimming the last 25%

I didn't like the writing style and it was a slog to get through
Just really never got into it and was skipping over lots of plot. Wasn’t invested in the characters or the storyline. Might pick up at a different time but for now it’s a soft DNF

A solid start to a upcoming trilogy! Although the writing felt a bit underdeveloped/young, the story itself was so nostalgic(?) in a way. The setting and plot are so interesting; I love switching between thousands of years in the future in space and 1900s London LOL. And I love the characters! I loved all the povs and how they see each other. I love the idea of reincarnating stories and how somethings are fated or written in the stars. Although I don't really believe in fate, it is very fun to read about. I'm very interested to see where the plot will go and seeing the author's writing improve!
