Now I've been spooked before but never by a book. This book freaked me out so badly and it was awesome. The stories are unnerving and creepy but so good. I love how the author writes and how descriptive each sentence is. If you like being creeped out but not exactly frightened, this book is for you.

I read this in search of a middle grade spooky book. And I definitely found it. I loved the setting, the way each short story came about and how there was always an underlying ominous feel to the interactions with Uncle Montague. And the weird kids in his garden??

Well this was a super creepy little book of tales! I really enjoyed this. If you like Grimm Fairy Tales, then I definitely recommend giving this a read. It'll be right up your alley.

This book was everything to me growing up, and some of the stories absolutely terrified me. Rereading it, it's not as scary but still gives enough uneasiness.
