This was a good read -- I learned alot. I had a "culturally aware" level of knowledge of Kissinger, but this really gave me new insights! Isaacson set out from the start to try to be unbiased. I don't think that's actually possible with Kissinger (and it wasn't in this book). But it was a good attempt. There was some repetitiveness (but in ~800 pages that is probably hard to help). I came away more interested and with a much deeper understanding/appreciation for the complicated Kissinger and his approach to statesmanship.

I mean, I was into Isaacson because of Steve Jobs. But this and Code breaker are way too slow. It was an headache. Pass.

An incredible book. Issacson does a brilliant job at analysing Kissinger style through an intricate web of his accomplishments and failures. Can’t recommend enough

Phew, I'm glad that's over.

Isaacson goes in-depth, bordering on exhausting.

I've read books by Kissinger but not on him. I had a curiosity about why he had such an outsized impact, that curiosity is firmly quenched.

Would I recommend this as a standalone book? Definitely not. But if you want an insight into history, politics, how the world works, this certainly offers it all.
