It was wonderful being back on Pern again! I can't figure out why I've stayed away for so long. This storyline reminded me of [book: The Dolphins of Pern], only this time they were re-learning about the watch-wher. I enjoyed the characters and the story. Now I'm off to read [book: Dragonsblood] and see how Todd can do on his own.

I had been avoiding the collaborative efforts of Anne McCaffery & son Todd..... don't really even remember why. I did grow up reading of Pern's Dragons.... I suppose I though my fond memories would be tinkered with?
Quite enjoyable though & I'll continue with them.

Anne McCaffrey is the quintessential writer of fantasy books pertaining to dragons. These books are always wonderful, well written, and perfectly characterized. All of her series are great but the ones that take place on Pern are the best of all. A thoroughly fun and engaging read.
