The heartbreak was something I anticipated. Because I have read two of Nicholas Sparks' books before and I realized that’s his status quo. But it still came as a hurtful shock. While reading his other books, I used to cry, bawl and weep uncontrollably at my sister’s utter panic and dismay. Needless to say, I was never allowed anywhere near a Nicholas Sparks book again. But during the times I feel somber I find company in sad books or books with heartbreak. So while I was recovering I started this book, it felt like an embrace of its own. And now as I finish the book, it has not only comforted me but also taught me so many lessons I wouldn’t have learned otherwise.

If you ever feel like you need proof or stories that prove that you never have to settle for less, read this book. But be warned, the book touches on so many difficult and unfortunate topics, it would kind of put you in a haze of sadness for a while.
