I love trees so this book holds a special place in my heart. The illustrations are gold!!!!! Beautiful and hopeful story.
Beautifully illustrated picture book about topiary magic given to a small community and passed on to continue the legacy.
My 3-year-old and I were equally captivated by this lovely, beautifully illustrated story of an orphan (as indicated by the illustrations of an orphanage, not from the text) who gets to the bottom of a town mystery: who is turning the trees into marvelous topiary creatures at night? This tender book quietly introduces the idea of temporary art, and transient friendships, that leave permanent benefits. What a treat. I believe the author and illustrator are brothers, both talented in a variety of arts.
Visually really nice, but it felt like the gardener was missing in the story.
This is a beautifully illustrated book. I like how the light and colors become more vivid as the story progresses.
A little bit Mysterious with a wholesome message. A young boy discovers a tree that has been transformed into a wonderful animal topiary. Soon more and more of these creations take shape, always over night and anonymously. The lovely creations draw the community out into nature and infuse joy and happiness into the neighborhood. Illustrations are cool. Good for young kids through slightly older readers, up to middle school.
Really sweet, with charming illustrations. The night gardener looks like such a nice old man :)
An effortless read—Truly one with many short scenarios that encapsulates the mysterious aura that the night gardener have.
