Loved the academia feel. It is somewhat dark but not as dark as I consider dark academia. Love the protagonist storyline even though I find him inactive at times when I expect him to act. He does in the end. Resulting in an outcomes I did not expect.

An excellent and thought provoking read. I loved the characters, and Robin’s journey was so interesting to watch. It also has such a unique magic system that I adored, I just feel it got a little bogged down in semantics sometimes - but they are language scholars after all! A hard read at times, but a necessary one.

This one’s a bit of a struggle for me to rate - really smart and feels very real. The world building is real (i mean makes sense it is historical). And the characters are complex and feel real. What does bring it down for me was the beginning was a lot to get through, started super slow.
