Seize The Night, book 8 of the Dark-Hunters series, by Sherrilyn Kenyon (McQueen) @mysherrilyn. This is a reread of this series for me. Long overdue, at that! 😂 I am reading this series in the order from Sherrilyn’s website/Goodreads.

Eek! I loved getting to know Tabitha & Valerius more! They've been in prior books but in this one, they meet & fall in love. With everything against them, they beat the odds, & have their HFN. 🥰 if you like Roman history, MF, PNR, & immortality, this book is for you!

Again, she does it exactly right. She can bring two characters together in no other way, it is just perfect. The last few pages of this book KILLED me with the drama and angst. People who know me, know I love bunnies and glitter in my books so I cried like a baby, but a brilliant book with a brilliant ending!

I loved this book. I thought the author did an excellent job creating the characters. I really liked Valerius and was really sympathetic to him. Tabitha was amazing!

I have alot of questions after this one... like

Why did he save so-and-so and not so-and-so?
How did they NOT know he was a ...?
What happens to ---- now that he is a ---------?

And that's just a few.

I'm glad so-and-so and so-and-so came around to.

Sorry, I didn't want to post spoilers for anyone so I thought of this fun way for my review. LOL

This is another book I enjoyed but I can't help but question if any other available sisters to Tabby and Amanda are going to hook up with a Dark-Hunter now.

I love how the tender side of Val comes out for and with Tabitha. I loved when he escorted "Marla" all just for Tabitha.

Otto and Nick were hilarious through the first part of the book but I really wanted to see Nick's remorseful side more after what he had done early on in the book after he admitted it to Ash. It tore me up because at first I didn't believe it, but when he didn't know who Simi was to Ash and when he realized it, he knew he was in serious trouble with Ash. And now... well, I can't spoil that for you now can I? LOL

Back to Val and Tabby... Tabby sure is a spitfire, eh? Loved how she wanted to protect him from Zarek's wraith. That alone was priceless. But what I am still wrapping my mind around is what youknowwho did for her and Val and I'm not talking Zarek by barging in and... so that Tabby could... you know?

Yeah...

Okay... enough of that... if you haven't read this book. You really should I'm reading them in order (or trying to anyway) so I can't wait to sink my teeth (pun intended) into the next one... after my Saturday errands and some writing are done.

I thought I might like the last one the best so far, but wow this one was amazing. I also did not have high expectations for a book about Valerius given his descriptions in the past - boy was I wrong.
SpoilerThough we knew he wasn't completely bad given that he tried help Zarek when he was a child

I love a misunderstood hero (and yes, the scale of the apathy is a bit overblown but I've already suspended disbelief to read this series in the first place). Valerius is prickly and has seen lots of hatred for being a Roman whereas most Dark Hunters came from cultures persecuted by Romans. The truth is he was never a terrible person, but lived in terrible circumstances and managed to stay kind in a ruthless family.

Tabitha is one of my favorite types of heroines - she knows what she wants and is willing to fight for it. Her empathic abilities lead her to start understanding Valerius despite his outer crustiness and her attraction to him leads to some seriously sexy scenes where Valerius lets his hair down and starts to open to her.

A couple other things that make this one of my favorites:

I love it when couples work together - Tabitha and Valerius were an awesome vampire slaying duo, both had to work hard for their skills as Tabitha is human, and Valerius does not possess powers beyond the basic Dark Hunter ones. I love the image of them kicking serious butt together.
SpoilerNot to mention they stood by each other during difficult times and were honest with each other, didn't try and hide things, and didn't allow the other one to run away.
I would seriously read a series about them. They are funny and so different but yet so perfect for one another.

This also had a ton of worldbuilding and brought back old characters. I loved seeing them all interact with each other.
Spoilerthough there were some sad moments. I was very surprised with what happened to Nick. Also, I was so happy Kyrian and Valerius came to a grudging tolerance,
I think they will eventually become friends. And best is ZAREK finally moving forward with his brother. I was hoping Astrid would have a strong impact on him.

Parts of this book were so funny I laughed forever. Case in point: boobaroni and penironi. I'm going to have to find where to buy some now haha. There were losses in this book, and some new info on our beloved Acheron. I think Tiffany is one of my favorites. Artemis actually acted nice in this...
