definitely had a slower start! i honestly can say that i didn’t guess the ending before everything was revealed. i thought
Teresa found out about the boys killing Matt and blackmailing Mildred into cutting her children off, not that Mildred had passed TWENTY YEARS AGO and Teresa had been playing the part of Mildred ever since
. i’m glad it was aubrey who was able to put everything together at the end, good for her!

AMAZING. I loved it so much, I don't even think I have any criticisms with it, because I LOVED it. Karen M. McManus has the best twists, absolutely.

This was way more enjoyable to me than the other books I’ve read by this author (I read one of us is lying but dnf the sequel). Felt more family mystery than thriller/murder mystery. I loved the setting and the twists along the way. It did get a little confusing on audio at times between the three female narrators, but I was able to pick up the ebook for the last 75% which definitely helped. I also appreciated that this was fairly clean for a YA book.

This reminded me of inheritance games and truly devious a little, so if you have enjoyed those you might like this one.

soooo now I've read every single book written by Karen M. McManus, and unfortunately in this case the last one was also the least. She's always been one of my favourite (YA) mystery authors, and even though this one was an okay read, it didn't live up to the standards her other works have set up. This one was just boring and hard to get into, too many names and too little action.

Was a captivating read. Lots of family secrets. Lots of unlikable characters. Probably won’t stick with me for long though.
