good i enjoyed the whole thing. took a long time to read and it’s already kinda complex which didn’t help but, this one felt extra complex. nearing disjointed. compared to the others. just so many characters with intertwining stories from this book and prior ones. yet still manages to be enjoyable and somewhat able to stay with it so. kudos

Opening section is a fun change of pace focusing solely on Karsa Orlong. The rest is also really good. Introduces some of the best characters. More focus on the warrens and gods.

Malazan has yet to disappoint me so far. Erikson knows how to stick a landing with his endings and while it's all part of this prolonged burn of a plot, the set pieces make it worth waiting for. Love seeing new characters arise, deepening some that we met a couple of books ago, and seeing old favorites return. It always feels like coming home.
