crying at the acknowledgments. also, i love hook and storme and literally all of them :((

sapphic fantasy is ALWAYS 5 stars come on!!!!! i loved the way it was all tied up at the end and i love ayla and crier.. me and who

A really satisfying conclusion to the duology!
I really like how everything was wrapped up here, but still felt like just the beginning of a new life for our characters. I think the duology was one of those that just felt whole enough to feel like a good point to end the story.
Throughout this book, all loose ends of the plot and main mystery got tied up, with a pace that felt very consistent. It was refreshing to see well known tropes appear, but in a more modern way which I think shows that the Young Adult genre can still have books that do the genre right!

I haven't even talked about the main romance yet; I don't think there's too much to say other than that it was just really soft, sweet and well written. The love between the two is so clear and honest. I liked that it wasn't such a main focus of the story, yet it had its importance in deciding moments.

i feel like the first 70% of the book could’ve been shorter but a good ending to the story nonetheless

i think the first book was significantly better.
i expected this to be more exciting, especially towards the climax, but kinok and hesod fell too easily. i would've loved to see more action, and more of how ayla fares in combat. i also think the romance was executed better on the first book.
overall, still enjoyable! crier's war was just on a whole other level.
