OK, so this book was amazing. First, the only thing I struggle with is her inability to choose a man it literally makes my blood boil. Mostly because I just can’t stand collith, haha and I love Laurie ( most of the time)

Okay, TBH, like I need a stark answer because I’m oblivious sometimes, so the ending, is she saying that Lucifer is Ollie because she never said Ollie specifically. Still, it sounded like it was hinting towards that, yes?

Either way, I love Ollie lmao I feel so sad for him throughout all of the books again because of her inability to choose. He always gets the short stick, but when they were in that sleeping bag together, AHHH✋

If I could give this book 3.5 stars I would. This book was longggggggg. Honestly way too long for everything that happened. There was a lot of boring parts. I think the first 350ish pages or so I wish I could have just skipped over. There were some good parts in the book. We did get a few answers. However, I feel the author was trying to make a book longer than her last, and I feel like that really took away from my enjoyment. The author needs to focus on the actual storyline and not so much the length of the books she’s writing. I will continue the series just because I’m too invested now, but right now it’s a solid MEH for me.

Why why why was this book 700+ pages. WHY? Honestly I feel like nothing happened for half the book, the back and forth between Collith and Laurie (oh and let’s just throw Oliver in there every once in a while too) was just so exhausting. There needed to be waaaay more focus on Fortuna’s powers and why they’re evolving, but all we got was “oh there was a spell binding my powers how weird”. Also, I’m bored with the dreamscape. The chapters were too long and for the big memory reveal was so disappointing. Like we already knew they cast a spell to bind her powers, why was that some big revelation? Lastly, the ending was just so out of left field that it wasn’t even enjoyable. It took me so long to finish this book which is disappointing because I was enjoying the series up to this point even if I wasn’t super invested. I’m honestly just happy I finally finished it after almost a month

I need book 5. Like I NEED book 5 now! KJ Sutton really knows how to leave you wanting more with a cliff hanger that leaves more questions than answers. Also…. Anyone else find Ollie to be sus?

Each of these books has just gotten bigger and bigger. This one being 706 pages long, however I still loved it. This one starts where book 3 ended, with Fortuna being held captive in the Seelie Court. There is a lot that goes on in this book. Torture, fighting, escapes, making a bond with a vampire and a werewolf. Fortuna eventually sleeps with Laurie while still being in love with Collith, even though she denies it and wants to hate him, but you can tell she is falling in love with Laurie as well. There are so many other magical creatures that get introduced in this book. As well as trying to beat an unknown opponent, a fair bit of this book is spent in the Dreamscape with Oliver. Here she must fight magical creatures her mother used to tell her stories about when she was a child, in order to reach hidden childhood memories. Oliver stands by her side and he is fiercely loyal and protective of her. Again we are left with a cliffhanger ready for book 5 which is hopefully out December 2022.

I KNEW IIIIIITTTTT
Kinda disappointed we haven't learned how Oliver links into the whole Lucifer thing yet but I think I have an idea.

The layers to Beautiful Nightmares are marvelous. Every chapter, every word are braided together throughout this book. Twisting into a captivating and thoughtful conclusion with no lose ends. We know where book 5 will pick up, but how will book 5 end. Looking forward to more mystery and more revelations to come!

(I will be comparing all future 2022 reads to Beautiful Nightmares. Will there be another 5 star for me this year?)

Omg this was amazing!!! This was already one of my favorite series so I definitely didn’t have low expectations going into this. But wow this exceeded every last one of them. I love where the rest of this series is going and i’m so excited i have no idea how im gonna make it another year waiting for the next book to come out.
My ratings definitely aren’t objective and for me the thing that turns a 4 star book into a 5 star book is (usually) mostly based on whether or not I really LOVED it - which I absolutely do with this one (KJ Sutton has me crying over these characters literally sitting on the couch together watching a movie), but I also just think this book was so so so well done. I love the writing style and I feel like it perfectly fits with the story and genre. The story is fast paced to keep you on your toes and not get bored (even though you’re reading a FAT book) but it’s not too fast where it feels rushed or there isn’t enough focus on character and the important quiet moments.
Anyway, I already grabbed my kindle to read the other adult fantasy book the author has written so consider me a fan.

Lastly I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the LGBTQIA+ rep in this series. Almost every single character is really fucking queer in the most casual way and it’s really just the best thing!!
