2.5 stars. this book did exactly what it set out to do, but i did not like it at all. it’s hard for me to empathize with such a grossly unlikeable group of people, even when that’s the point of the story. i didn’t care at all about them. even when given flashes of their humanity, i found them so utterly dry and dull and horrible as people that nothing in this story mattered to me all.

my first ever bret easton ellis book, very exciting.

this was just 200 pages of awful people doing awful things and being awful. everything was rather pointless, but i nonetheless enjoyed it. i think there’s a sequel to this? so i will definitely be reading that.
