Me decepcionó porque la saga de the dare me había gustado mucho y pensé que seguiría esa línea la autora.
Creo que se intentó aventurar mucho y no supo desarrollar bien la historia, al final los personajes fueron aburridos, muchas cosas fueron ridículas y el mundo mágico quedó con muchos huecos de trama.

I loved the depictions of the demons and how the author chose to characterize them but she really needs to expand her vocabulary especially when it comes to spicy scenes. The repetition annoyed me so much it actually ruined the book.

This was my very first Harley Laroux read and now I’m kicking myself for waiting so long to start! Absolutely loved her writing style and the spice was 🔥🔥 I really can’t wait to read the next in this series AND bonus, it’s currently feeding my Kpop Demon Hunters obsessed heart because I neeeeeded a demon romance!

Raelynn has returned to her childhood hometown, Abelaum, to finish out college and is pretty much immediately confronted with Leon, the new security guard on campus. She can’t explain it but she’s both terrified and insanely attracted to him.
Meanwhile, she’s a paranormal investigation content creator and Abelaum’s got a creepy as hell history with their silver mines that she wants to explore. Her best friend, Inaya, gifts her an old grimoire that she brings to the dilapidated church near the silver mines to film some content and hopefully catch a ghost on camera. However, what she’s end up doing is summoning a demon.. Leon 😈
Leon wants Rae’s soul and he offers her his protection in exchange for it. Why does she need protection? Well, because an ancient God wants her as a sacrifice and the townspeople are all in cahoots to make that happen. The God is sending his creepy “servants” after her and Leon is pretty much the only thing standing between her and death.
Rae has ZERO sense of self preservation. She says it herself MANY times but sheesh, it’s out of control. She takes a mixed drink from a man that she has been told repeatedly is evil and surprise surprise, he roofied it. To be honest, her lack of care for her own life is the only reason this book didn’t get 5 ⭐️s.
The spice though.. WHEW!! 🥵🥵 Rae loved pain & fear with her pleasure and who better to deliver both than her demon. There is a nipple piercing scene that involves a giant dildo to help distract.. hot hot HOT! 🔥
I’m so excited to continue on and find out how Juniper and Zane made their deal!

Such a fun and spicy book. It has a cool and dark plot with a glimpse of the paranormal aspect. If you love a mix of witches and demons, monsters, with a lot of smut, this book is for you.
