Good start. Wonder if it's a feint that Whedon seems prepared to undo the conclusion to season eight

An improvement from the last half of season 8, though it still suffers a bit from the fallout of some of the dumber events from season 8.

Thank God, they've resisted the urge to go nuts with the unlimited budget and have gone back to stories focused on characters and relationships, with cool paranormal activity of course. Overall I am way more into the tone and scope of this than season eight. However, the art still sucks and I can't fucking recognize people. And I have qualms about this pregnancy storyline, especially considering how terribly they handled that idea on Angel...

I loved this! A strong start to season nine and back to all the buffy things i love. Also, fair warning, have volume two on hand before you finish this one.

This had some good moments. I did like the party Buffy threw and some lines in there. She has real roommates for now. I guess Buffy still has some youth left in her.

Questions: I don’t understand Spike and these Bug aliens and how he got involved? The whole showdown with Buffy and the police was, oh really, this again?

They ended the last season in a down and depressed place, but at least they are trying to correct their mistake in this one, but it might take all season to do so. There is a new bad that Buffy takes care off.

It’s an enjoyable outing and I’m not really overly excited about it. There are some fine moments, but nothing really inspired.

So now we're into the Buffy graphic novels that I hadn't kept up with monthly. This Season 9 trade takes place a little after the events of Season 8, and things are not so great for Buffy and most of the gang. Someone is around, though, and wants to make it worse than simply zombie-like vampires.

A lot of this worked, but I'm a little skeptical of the direction currently. I get it's a long arc overall, but while the first trade of Season 8 had a huge hit to just bring things around, this felt a lot slower.

I didn't hate it, I really liked it, I just wanted to love it and I didn't. Still will be keeping up with the next trades as well as the spinoffs.

An interesting start to Season 9. I'm excited to see what else they come up with for Buffy.

Not a big fan of the story line yet. Didn't really care for too much of the art work in this volume either. Hoping this season gets better as we go along.

Not what I expected at all. Not sure if I like this direction for my Buffyverse.

Fun, and much better than Buffy Season 8. The series is back to smaller scale problems and focuses on the people and their interactions.
