ARE YOU TELLING ME THIS ISN'T EVEN THE LAST BOOK IN THIS SERIES
Ugh. So. I don't even know if I will be reading any further books, because this world kinda does not do it for me. (For starters, I have problems with the idea of people being okay with teenage triplets killing each other, and in fact HELPING them do it for political gain.) (Also, Katherine is The Worst, Mirabella is... there?, and Arsinoe is the only one of them I actually kinda like.)
I feel like I kept reading this series for the same reason I kept watching Game of Thrones: I just want to know if Daenerys gets the Iron Throne, and I hope everyone else takes a flying leap off a cliff. Except, you know, insert Arsinoe for Daenerys.
Possibly I should have known, by the inclusion of "dark" in every single title, that this series would be too dark for me. In a shocking turn of events, there is a lot of death and bad people. WHO COULD HAVE SEEN THIS COMING. Anyway, I do really like Kendare Blake's writing, and she has really interesting ideas, but... I just don't know if I can continue with this series. Sigh.

I’m legitimately in tears (particularly emotional today in general, though, I must say...), because I have grown so particularly fond of these characters and this story, and I do not WANT TO SAY ANOSHE* YET! I have been spoiled, not reading until now and having books 1-3 at my disposal to be read one after the other- and now I have to freakin wait , WAIT! until the last book. wait, you guys. *Sigh*.
I actually love when I don’t discover a wonderful series until they are all released or else I just short of go mad because of the wait- Haha// I need instant gratification in life... waiting is not at all my thing. In fact I hatteeeee it. With a passion.

Not like groundbreaking, but really addicting and easy to listen to. I really love the audiobook reader, which helps.
I think the plot and magic system is really unique. The island is definitely more interesting to me than the mainland.
My favorite subplot was definitely the dreams about the blue queen.
I can't wait to read the next book!

Felt better but still not a lot happening, guess I just want to see how this story will end. Love the presmise but still feels lacking.
Not the best in the series...definitely feels like it's dragging the story out.

wow what a massive improvement. time went by so fast reading round 3. i am so surprised how positively i feel about this one. usually as series go on i get bored and lose interest but i am invested now

arsenal is a baddie and i love her. i die for her.
kat the bat is intolerable. i mean come on 2 kills this time? sick of her.
petra is annoying too. like.. you mean nothing go away

I didn’t enjoy this installment as much as the previous but it was still an exciting read! Can’t wait to finish up this series!!
