"Saludémonos con una inclinación, Harry —dijo Voldemort, agachándose un poco—. Vamos, hay que comportarse como caballeros... Inclínate ante la muerte, Harry."
No puedo creer que hasta hace poco considerara a éste el libro "débil" de Harry Potter. Tras esta relectura puedo darme cuenta que equivocada estaba. No sólo marca el fin de la infancia y la inocencia, si no que es el libro que asienta las bases de todo lo que está por venir. Es un libro que representa la nueva era de oscuridad y terror, un libro de nuevos comienzos, y de muchos muchos aportes:
🔸El pensadero.
🔸La marca tenebrosa.
🔸La confirmación de que Hagrid es medio gigante y su historia familiar.
🔸La más perfecta de todas las frases: "Si quieres saber cómo es alguien, mira de qué manera trata a sus inferiores, no a sus iguales." ¡Y no es dicha por Dumbledore, si no por Sirius!
🔸Las maldiciones imperdonables.
🔸La primera mención de los Lestrange.
🔸La historia de los padres de Neville.
🔸Malfoy convertido en hurón.
🔸El primer atisbo verdadero de lo dificil que es la situación en la casa Weasley. Mi corazón se pulverizó cuando Ron dijo: "Odio ser pobre. Es un asco."
🔸Mortífagos y los terrores que ejercían.
🔸El inicio de la crisis adolescente de Harry.
🔸La P.E.D.D.O
🔸La carrera de Auror. Aun me sorprende darme cuenta que nadie influye tanto en el futuro de Harry y Hermione como el falso Moody, que es nada más y nada menos el que les sugiere que estudien para ser Aurores.
🔸Voldemort. Voldemort y su maldad. Voldemort y su historia familiar. Voldemort y su primera pista de la existencia de los horrocruxes.
"¿Cómo pudieron creer que no volvería? ¿Cómo pudieron creerlo ellos, que sabían las precauciones que yo había tomado, tiempo atrás, para preservarme de la muerte?."
Leyendo eso recordé una entrevista viejisíma que le hicieron a Rowling cuando estaba por salir el quinto libro. El entrevistador le preguntaba: "¿Puedes contarnos por qué Harry vivió a pesar de la maldición?", a lo que Rowling respondía algo como "La verdadera pregunta debería ser por qué Voldemort no murió".
Quién sabe cuantas pistas más están ahí, sólo aguardando ser redescubiertas.

Third time I have read this book and I appreciate it even more. The Goblet of Fire is the perfect transition for Harry, Ron, and Hermione to exit childhood and enter young adulthood.
There are so many details in this book that I had forgotten about. So many new plots and characters that were introduced. Such a good overall plot with amazing characters and developments.

It's unfortunate that the film adaption for this book was so bad (and by bad I mean I can't look at their haircuts) because this book is actually really good.
There is so much more detail in this book than there is in the film. I always forget how much there is because I'm very visual and remember the films better than the books. It was so good to reread this one and discover everything all over again.
If you didn't like the film of GoF because Harry and Ron fought a lot, I can assure you that the fight in the book takes up a tiny amount of time. Then it's over. It just seems like it takes up half the plot during the film because they had to pack everything into a shorter amount of time.
Please, please read this book. Read all of the books.

Best book yet about not starting too slowly and being overly detailed.
Refreshing to read it again as an adult! I really enjoyed the book and realized how much better it is than the movie.
