Yet another amazing book from Weaver about David Raker. So well written and it managed to take me by surprise multiple times.

Even though the set of characters in the stories that we by now, know very well. They are so well thought out and well written, the characters that we are supposed to like are so great, even though they are not perfect you care about them and you want them to make good decisions.

Weaver's way of writing makes it so nerve-wracking at times. Sometimes I felt I could feel whatever Raker felt. And the entire ending kept choking me over and over again.

Weaver knows how to write an ending to make you want to read the next in the series. Please do yourself the favor of reading this series.

An hour after leaving home Sam Wren gets on a tube train and never gets off again, no witnesses and no traces of him. Six months later Sam is still missing, out of options Sam’s wife Julia hires a private investigator David Rake to find him. This could be David’s toughest case yet, as David suspects the police are lying to him and valuable secrets are being held back David is more determined than ever to find Sam… Someone knows what happened to Sam that day and David is going to find out who.

This is the perfect story for readers who enjoy crime, thriller, mystery and suspense genre’s. I awarded Vanished four stars as I found it a long read (486 pages) and not easy to read but well worth it! I started reading this book yet again without knowing it was part of a series (which I will be reading), either way I still enjoyed it as a stand alone story. I have many other books by Tim Weaver waiting to be read on my bookshelves and after reading this I know he will not disappoint me. This book will keep you hooked and the story is very cleverly written. If you think this is your type of book, dive in! Enjoy.

For millions of Londoners, the morning of 16 December is just like any other. But not for Sam Wren. An hour after leaving home, he gets on a Tube train - and never gets off again. No witnesses. No trace of him on security cameras. Six months later, he's still missing.

Out of options and desperate for answers, Sam's wife Julia hires David Raker to track him down. Raker has made a career out of finding the lost. He knows how they think. And in missing person cases, the only certainty is that everyone has something to hide.

But in this case the secrets go deeper than anyone imagined.

For, as Raker starts to suspect that even the police are lying to him, someone is watching. Someone who knows what happened on the Tube that day. And with Raker in his sights, he'll do anything to keep Sam's secrets to himself.

The second storyline is the police are investigating the disappearance of young men. All the men live alone and have few friends or family members. All the men have disappeared without a trace except for their hair, which has been shaved off and left on their pillows.

I really enjoy the David Raker books, always different and the story always seems to make you want to read "just one one chapter" before going to sleep. From the very start, when Raker decides to investigate this strange disappearance, nothing is as it seems. Sam Wren has a lot of secrets, some buried very deep and for a long time, which inevitably leads to more questions than answers.

The ending was great and has been left on a cliff hanger and I can't wait to read the next installment (Never Coming Back) very soon.

book picked up a lot more after the first 100 pages, the plot was interesting but i figured out the plot twists before they were revealed so it was a bit underwhelming. Still a good read though.

He never got off the train. So where did he go? Julia Wren enlists David Raker to help look for her husband Sam. How can a man get on a train, but never get off?

This one did start a little slow, but once it picked up speed it never stopped. There were so many twists and turns with this one that I really had no idea where it was going to go or what had happened. It was very unexpected, but another good story from Tim.

Too much swearing and the was so slow that I lost interest. Makes you not care what happens in the end.
