I absolutely love the Scott Pilgrim series and I’m reading it for the fourth time.
It’s interesting to note how much space’ lesbianism’ takes in this book. Scott tends to say Lesbian instead of Love,Knives and Kim make out, Ramona’s ex-girlfriend shows up, Scott gets rid of an old poster with girl-on-girl action… It’s a leitmotif! And yet, I feel like Ramona’s interactions with the ex are treated as less important. She literally admits to making out with her and this has no consequences! I doubt she’d get the same (absence of) reaction from Scott if it’d been with one of the ex-boyfriends. That would’ve been cheating, right?
Anyway, these are just a few queer thoughts.
Scott Pilgrim wins me every time.
