This was really good, and the illustrations were STUNNING! They added so much to the story.

This book had a promising premise. However, it was very frustrating that the main character was kept out of the loop. If things were so dangerous, why not just fill her in? She even asks multiple times what's going on. Only for her to be used at the end of the book and all the adults were like "Oh yeah, we knew everything about what was going on." There was a pretty obvious "twist" at the end. I would have like to seen them
help out the death witch more rather than paint them as the villan the whole book and then brush everything off at the end.

Loved how it was immediately queer & no big deal about it. Great character development from self-centred teen in her own drama to a more considerate person. Cool witchy world building, I'd love to see more in this world.
Plus we need more queer graphic novels, especially POC queer like the best boy Ben!!

This was a short story that had me hooked. It dealt with some tough topics but did so in a way I think most people wish they could. Definitely would recommend to my kids!

I received an eARC courtesy of G.P. Putnam's Sons Books for Young Readers via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I found this to be mostly enjoyable. The premise and the characters were entertaining, but I'm dinging it points because the ending felt rather abrupt.

For Libraries: This is a good choice for your graphic novel reading teens who like things a bit supernatural
