I’ve never read anything like this. It. Is. SO. Unsettling.

I could’ve used a Xanax salt lick. Not even kidding.

I didn’t like the way it jumped around but the story itself was good. Though the ending was a major wtf

I appreciated how the author depicted each character’s unique distress at the erosion of their own sense of identity as an autonomous person. I took a point and change off the star rating because I feel like the story kind of trailed off at the end. Fans of Fight Club would probably enjoy this book.

This book is AMAZING. I literally don't have words for how much I loved it. I wrote so many notes inside my copy, underlined so many sentences. Above all, this is a book about the horror of becoming. It focuses on the liminality of female puberty, the way a teenage girl is everything at once. White contains all colors. Its references to other pieces of literature and media always deepened the meaning of the text. I've never read a book that captures the feralness of teenage girls so well. I've never said this before, but Jawbone should be an instant classic of the horror genre. I absolutely adored the translation, but I wish I could read Spanish so I could read the original text. God, this book was fantastic. I'm in love.
