This story hit me right in the feels. Simultaneously heartwarming and gutwrenching at times, and achingly beautiful storytelling. Just the thing to read if you need a little hope and lot of courage.

A cozy story about a 40 years old man who has nothing left but his job beibg forced out his routine and finding a place where he really fits.
I like that to do that, he didn't change the purpose of his life, just found another way to fufill it
. I got weirded out by
how, even though she was well intentioned, the narrative treated the mayor's abuse of power like a fun little thing she does

Such a beautiful, earnest story about childhood whilst being different. Wholesome while not completely blind to the realities of the world. Has fantastical elements but I would classify it more as magical realism, as there are not hard-and-fast rules to the magic and magical creatures contained in the book (nor will you care about said rules even if they do exist). Has many moments similar in tone to A Series of Unfortunate Events. A very special book. I cried so very much.
