If I could rate this book a 6, I would! This was a great read that included so much diversity and I loved the message it was trying to present. The theme being: love others no matter what, even if you don’t understand them. I also believe the author included another theme: people are afraid of what they don’t understand. As someone who works with children and sees the corrupt foster care system, I encourage all to read. It is enlightening and also very funny. It was lighthearted while also touching on important subjects!

Sweet story with endearing characters. Seems written for an adolescent-to-young-adult audience. Not typically my taste, but I did enjoy it. Even as a straight reader, queer stories are important!

I adored this book! It was the perfect touch of whimsical while still revealing important lessons with quirky characters. The descriptions were vivid and the dialogue fun.
My one critique is that I think some of the turnaround (or bubble popping) in characters happened a bit too quickly.
Otherwise it was a great book!

A really heartwarming story that made me smile and laugh several times ( even when I was in public/restaurants and people now may think I'm weird).
I loved the characters and the depth to them. I can't wait to get to know them a little bit better in the sequel.
The only thing I can critique is that I would've written the ending a little bit differently. Not because I didn't like it but because I thought it needed a bit more time. Or maybe I just wanted to read more about all of them being happy :').

Probably THE book that got me out of my most recent reading slump. PS: if you’re a little bored in the beginning that means the author’s technique to dull and placate you like this fictional society does is working.

This is such a cute story! The magical children are so charming and the main character grew immensely throughout the story. The humor is endearing and there are so many life lessons about kindness, friendship, and being yourself. The first half of the novel is kinda cheesy and slow, but I became more invested as I read on. Very wholesome read :’)
