This was a warm, cozy, dark, reverse harem story, with some kinks that's not for everybody.
It reminded me of a book I've read before (Skeleton King by Charity B.)
Not the actual RH, or the story line, but the brutality yet warm and cozy feel to it.
Will absolutely recommend - if you're not faint of heart.
If you've got a stick up your ass, skip this one.

Not sure how to rate this one. It’s not really romance. I would definitely put this in the erotica genre. Any plot that happens feels really flimsy and generic. I like that our FMC was competent enough to do things on her own. And the men are just as competent and, for the most part, let her be her own person. But to call it a romance is a disservice. They just have sex. There’s no dating, no wooing.
There’s some major details missing that I thought would get answered but don’t. Like why does Oliver live with Nic? And where does Bodhi live? Why don’t Oliver and Bodhi live together? Maybe it gets addressed in a later book but it seemed like something that should have been mentioned right away.
At the end, there’s a TON of characters who get introduced rapid fire. And they all know our FMC. It was too the point where it felt like I was just missing a whole other book. Again, maybe it gets addressed in another book. But these people were a key component in resolving the final problem. Either give me more detail so I can connect with these characters or find a different way to resolve the conflict.

This book was so so. The plot was okay. The spice was good. But it just felt like something was missing for me.
I’m having a hard time with my rating on this one. While I found the story really interesting and I enjoyed the relationships between the characters, I couldn’t get into some of the kinks. And I feel like there has to be a line somewhere between sadism as a kink and getting off on committing/watching murder but I, admittedly, don’t know much on the subject. Just an assumption. Plus, the blood play. On it’s own, not my preference (though, no judgment when it’s consensual) but having sex while covered in some random John’s blood really didn’t do it for me for several reasons, including the previously mentioned concern on going too far in the name of sadism AND the concern about blood born pathogens.
That being said, I’m gonna give book two a try but make no guarantees about completing it. These books might be a little too far outside my comfort zone, which sucks because the plot is good.
