A fine follow-up to continue the story of Naomi, the Child Finder. Tracing her oldest cold case, she gets tangled up in a new mystery and trying to help a young girl who lives on the streets. She also struggles with marital problems and self-discovery and it all ends up wrapped in a neat little bow like the wings of a butterfly.
While the story is good, I found this sequel to lack some of the magic of the first book, and after a slow start and an excellent middle, I found the ending rushed and unsatisfying.

Naomi Cottle, an investigator nicknamed The Child Finder, had returned to the Pacific Northwest to try and find her long lost sister. In her search, she meets and befriends Celia, a preteen living on the streets. But there is someone abducting and murdering young women living on the streets, and Celia may be in grave danger.

This book was written beautifully, even though the things described were depressing and bleak. I’ve find that this and the previous book make you feel like you’ve been transported into a corrupted dream.

There were times that it felt like it was just awful thing after awful thing happening to characters, but to be fair, that sort of thing does happen to people in real life. I was kept guessing, and there is a twist about who is murdering the women that I didn’t see coming.
