The stories of Viv and everyone she encounters are just so...nice.
There is some combat in this, so it isn't even as ~chill~ as Legends but going into the story you know you will have a wholesome, good time.
And sometimes, that's all you need.

The prequel to Legends & Lattes is a little less focused of an experience, but still quite enjoyable. Lovable characters, and a plot that moves between cosy bookshop management to a decently interesting adventure

Watching Viv fall in love with reading the same way I have made me all warm and fuzzy inside.

In this Legends and Lattes prequel we once again find ourselves with Viv, an orc. Except this time, she is young, not yet battle scarred and hungry for adventure. Being young and brash she gets injured and must recover in the small town of Murk while the rest of the party continues on, promising to come back for her. One of my favorite parts of reading is watching characters grow, so it was refreshing to see a younger, less developed Viv.

Bookshops and Bonedust does have more action and fighting, but all of the cozy vibes from Legends and Lattes remain.

We learn how Viv meets her gnome adventure pal Gallina (who loves spicy romance books) and obtains her legendary sword. Viv also befriends an adorable gryphet (Potroast), a bookshop owner rattkin (Fern), and a beautiful dwarf baker (Maylee).

Maybe just not a good time for me to read. I found myself bored and distracted.

A cute and cozy DND-esque story.
Satchel and Pot Roast were easily my favorite characters.
