Charming chapter book. Even after all this time, really nothing offensive and plenty that is lively, entertaining and sweetly supportive of our family's values. I bought 3 volumes from the series to have on hand for "read aloud" to my grands.

"American Winnie the Pooh" really is the best description: animal stories for children with winks at the grown-ups, a little less twee.

Read upon recommendation from someone who loved these books growing up when I needed such a book to finish my genre challenge. It was a fun light read and I can see why this person loved these books growing up.

A very sweet tale of a new detective, solving silly cases around the farm. Adorable illustrations.

The Freddy books are not to be missed! This may need to be 5 stars. They are so very clever and funny - the characterizations of the animals, the way he words the action, etc etc. This one is definitely a family favorite!!
