This was the first Tessa Bailey book that I have read and within the first couple of pages I knew that there was going to be a miscommunication trope and that it was going to be a reoccurring topic. Britta, our FMC, agrees to fake marry Sumner, our MMC, who is on the hockey team and there is an instant connection WHICH SHE DENIES. Overrall the book wasn’t bad but I felt like at one point there was so much smut that it overpowered the little plot we got.

Okay, so first off this is another super horny Tessa Bailey romance. This one was over the top and big on the cheese factor to the point of being a little cringe. BUT I loved it! I do think the title was a missed opportunity for a different book as this is a marriage of convenience story, NOT a fake dating story so you didn't get the forced proximity and pushed affection that I typically love. Instead its a flirty friend who needs a green card and a male love interest who's overly pining for the female lead.

There are several cringe things that happened, not totally my vibe, and it did take me out of the story a few times but not long enough to really mess up my enjoyment. I will say the steam factor in Tessa Bailey books always catch me off guard because the horny thoughts happen long before anything else and sometime come out of left field entirely.

Regardless this is a good romance and I enjoyed it!

After reading Wreck the Halls, I was hesitant to read another book by the same author but this was a great novella! Loved the chemistry between Britta and Sumner. It was a quick read with a hockey theme that had a nice story line progression and plenty of spice.

A quick read. Told in first person with two POV'S, main female character and main male character. If you're into the Hockey Romance this fits it perfect. Teammates sister, man is obsessed with her, marriage of convenience and very very detail spicy scenes from the Male POV. He loves the dirty talk. It actually felt like most of the books was spicy scenes and dirty talk.

Okay, it’s official… I realized I do not like novellas…this story didn’t do much for me. I felt like the relationship wasn’t build up it was 0 to 60. I want more from this story to really buy into it.
