Ok so I kinda read this series out of order lol... completely on accident. Either way I looooove this little series. Having read book 1, of course some of the references in book 2 make more sense. Hoping for a book 3!

When Cori moves back to Chicago for the first time since she was a child, she’s not entirely sure what she’s looking for. So an app mysteriously appearing on her phone and claiming to have the capabilities to guide her directly to her soulmate feels like the perfect solution.
Even if she’s pretty sure what she wants is already right in front of her.

First things first (but I did NOT choose my rating based on this): the spice level of this book is very nearly non-existent so adjust your expectations accordingly.

There were a few things I enjoyed about this book and a lot I didn’t.

What I liked: It’s a book with a genuinely diverse cast of characters. The friendships are beautiful. The plot is quite intriguing, and the last quarter of the book held my attention past my bedtime.

What I didn’t like: The pacing is all over the place to the point I don’t think I ever was able to really understand Cori’s mindset or reasons for her thoughts/actions. I just don’t think I finished the book having a good feeling for her at all. It didn’t help that information about the characters or the plot is kind of thrown at the reader haphazardly. And though I think the friendships are beautiful … they don’t exactly feel earned to me. There’s something missing in all the interactions that leads to them not connecting the way I hoped they would.

Finally, the idea of the app is fun and interesting, but I had to suspend a lot of disbelief because it’s never fully explained. Maybe that’s the point, but I finished more confused than enlightened.

I’m still happy I read this book. It left me with a cute, happy feeling, and I do really appreciate the diverse cast of characters. This is the author’s debut, so I might check out the sequel to see if the writing and structure fits with me more!

A cute story, kept reading because I wanted to know what happened. Some of the conversations were a little confusing, I wasn’t always sure who was saying what. Fun, light read.

I thought this was a charming, quick read. While, I did not find my husband or soul mate on a dating app; it is not totally unbelievable to imagine people finding their soul mates from a dating app as that is what the present times revolves around. No, I meant my husband the "old fashion" way...in a night club.

Therefore, the idea of a magical app just appearing on Corinne's phone was an intriguing concept. If this happened to me I would probably try it; especially in the fact that it is telling me that I might find my soul mate.

While, I did like this book and found it to me a quick read, I did find myself struggling to connect with any of Corinne's love interest. I honest can't remember their names of how Corinne meant them in her past relationships with them. This book reads is not a rom com, if you were thinking that. It is more contemporary romance. Overall, I found myself "liking" more than "loving" this book. Yet, I would read another book by this author.

Definitely a unique premise. Different than what I expected (a typical romcom type book). I’m not totally into the magical app that someone no one is truly skeptical of vibe. I also felt like the main character was hot tempered in a way that didn’t make sense to me, and she was unkind/short with people so often but they didn’t seem to notice in a way that is really inconsistent with my life experiences.

I really liked the middle part, but the things the main character did after starting her relationship didn’t really make sense to me so I had a hard time being invested. I also did feel like the Devin character was not fleshed out (I kept forgetting they were one of the 3 potentials). Actually, neither were most of the characters, aside from Lito and also Ms Leyda.

Cute story, and I love Chicago, but I can’t really give it 3 stars and put it in the same league as other books I’d really recommend, but it’s also a lot better than 2 stars. So no rating :)
