So not too long ago I had the pleasure of stumbling across an author I had never read before named Ember Casey. I fell a little bit in love with her book His Wicked Games so you can imagine my delight when I was surfing through Amazon the other night and found Truth or Dare. His Wicked Games ended on a good note, we got to see the completion of that story but defiantly didn’t want to let these two characters go just yet. Thankfully Ms. Casey heard our pleas and brought us Truth or Dare. Now that most of the cards are on the table can Lily and Calder actually have anything resembling normal? Can Lily find her feet with Calder or will he always run the show? We have to read to find out and Ms. Casey doesn’t disappoint.

One of the stand out things in this book is that it isn’t the same thing we read in the first book. Yes, there is a game but it’s a recurring theme rather then a formula for the book. Lily and Calder are brought back together in the real world this time, not the bubble they created for themselves during Wicked Games. This means real problems and there are a few! I loved how they tried to be a normal couple but for a bunch of reason they really aren’t and there is almost nothing wrong with not being normal. It’s nice to see more of Calder and Lily’s growth as individuals as well as a couple. Lily really tries to put herself on a level playing field with Calder even if she is terribly out matched and with the whole world now aware of Calder’s situation things only get more complicated. The way Calder handles this is shocking but once you sit back and think about it, of course that’s what he would do. Keeping their relationship from Lily’s father killed me because there was no real reason for it. With the exception of Morgan I pretty much loved everyone! Morgan however needs to catch a clue and learn when to leave. You’ll know what I mean when you get to that part! Though there were times I would have loved to see Lily stand up for what she wanted more. She still gives in a little too easy but I kind of get it, he is amazing and a sweet talker. And I loved the banter back and forth, it was so much fun.

The kink in this book is exactly what I have come to expect from Ms. Casey. I’m not just talking about the sex which is hot enough on its own, but think kink. The game really expands their horizons and in some cases Lily’s boundaries. It was surprising to see Calder push Lily and Lily actually say no. And when sex is off the table according to Calder you really get to see a deeper side of him. Watch out for the rest stop, it almost made my heart stop.

All I can say is if you are looking for a fun book you need to pick up this series. It has just enough silly to keep it light and just enough real to make you feel for these characters. If you haven’t started reading Ember Casey yet you are missing out in ways I can’t even explain to you.

I loved the first book, but I felt they spent too much time denying feelings and running from each other. In the first book they're clearly a different couple than most tales, in this, they try to go for the normal couple thing, and it doesn't work for me or them.
I'm not saying I hated this, but I didn't love it. I loved the last five percent because it was a good version of truth or dare, not the silly truths he gave her and the dares asked of him. It's mainly all about Calder and his drop from riches to poor, and his struggle to become a new man and not wanting to bring her down. Really all her problems are created in her head, and all of his are created by him punching her away for her safety. Booooooooo

Holly's 4.5 Star Review

I first read His Wicked Games as part of the blog tour and I really enjoyed it (you can see my review here) and couldn't wait to see where Ember Casey would take the characters next so of course, as soon as I saw siign ups for Truth Or Dare, my fingers couldn't move quick enough!

Truth Or Dare begins three weeks after His Wicked Games ends and Calder and Lily have their first date outside of the mansion. When Calder starts taking secretive phone calls and keeping Lily at a distance, she proposes a new game. One that will help them learn more about each other and if Lily has her way, bring back the heat and passion in their relationship that Calder was trying so hard to put on hold.

I LOVE the whole idea of the games in both books. They give such a fun and exciting element to the stories and I became really giddy once they started because I was looking forward to seeing what would become of them. Some of the dares were so, so funny and Calder's truth when he was asked of his filthiest fantasy had me laughing really hard. There were some <>very clever answers!

There was a story beyond the games though as Calder struggles with losing his family home and fortune and and both himself and Lily have to deal with the press surrounding the Cunningham's affairs and the center. And of course we have the incredibly sexy scenes that this series would not be complete without. Calder is one super sexy guy and Ember Casey certainly knows how to use him to bring readers to their knees. And that ending? Loved it!

Truth Or Dare is another great book from Ember Casey and I cannot wait for Calder and Lily's story to continue in Sweet Victory (His Wicked Games #2.5) which will be out in the Fall of 2013.

Clearly I loved Truth or Dare as much as His Wicked Games. By the end I had left the blubbering and sleepiness behind for the sighing and tears of joy. *sniff* Here is my full review of the series: https://valeehill.blogspot.com/2013/09/book-review-his-wicked-games-series-by.html

I love, love, LOVED this one. Lily Frazer and Calder Cunningham move their relationship into something more after their weekend together at the Cunningham Manor. As soon as the words 'Truth or Dare' appeared I was sold. I'm a sucker for a good game and Calder and Lily certainly know how to play.

There was the perfect amount of feels, sex, and angst to make this a five star read for me. It's probably one that I would pick up again for a re-read, too.

P.S. Asher Julian is an asshole. This has been a Stephanie PSA.
