I wish I had nice things to say about this book but I just don't. It lacked depth. The repetitive use of rhetorical questions was awful. The writing lacked detail and the character development was seriously lacking. I enjoyed it at first but then it just became redundant. Nothing happening but the 2 love interests constantly asking themselves, "Can this work?" This book needed more showing versus telling. Have some faith in the reader. Not everything needs to be explained.

This book was fine! It was kind of cute and I enjoyed the christmassy atmosphere of New York City and the plaza hotel. I didn’t really connect with any of the characters tho and found the character development to be lacking at times. There were also a lot of scenes that felt unrealistic (like Ian giving her the royal family ring?? Or the scene where she met him two hours late for that fancy dinner and neither of them really questioned the other about it?)

A Magical New York Christmas follows Sabrina, a ghostwriter, and Ian, a charity coordinator as they both stay at the Plaza hotel in New York. At a chance encounter they meet and continue to bump into each other until their plans become more intentional.
Overall, I really enjoyed this story. It was a fun, fluffy read that really managed to capture the magic that is NYC at Christmas time. The romance was sweet and the yearning was real. The main conflict was misunderstanding and I felt like the misunderstanding went a little too far to be considered realistic or to be forgiven. I am happy Sabrina was a more forgiving woman than I would be, because I definitely would have bounced.
