Buddy read series

I just need to start off by saying that Anna legit was carrying the fuck out of this book for majority of it. She is hilarious.

“He can’t be pretty, rich, brave, and even with me on the crazy scale. It makes him the alpha in our relationship if he’s more perfect than me. You know I don’t want to ride shotgun. I’m a driver.” She puts her hands at the ten and two position before adding, “Vroom. Vroom.”

The beginning is a tad slow as all the main characters are introduced and the plot is built. Violet's cluelessness did get kind of aggravating because I'm not a fan of those types of characters. Once I got further into the book and it's revealed that she's more than what she lets on, though, she actually becomes hella kickass. And I mean, hella KICKASS.

“You killed four vampires today, and now I realize you can apparently see me. Don’t you think you have some questions to answer?” he asks seriously. “

It does end on a cliffhanger, but I'm officially hooked on the story. It's a reverse harem with a witty gypsy heroine everyone underestimates because she isn't 100% aware of the world her mom tossed her in and four monster alphas who are obsessed with her. There's mystery elements, magic, and lots of humor.

The beginning of this book was very good. Violet seemed like an interesting character. As a fan of the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series I thought or anticipated this book would have some of the same threads. Except....Violet is an idiot. I saw the ending coming from early on in the book. She knows nothing- goes around breaking rules she has been given for her own safety in this new paranormal town and just goes around creating problems.

You think a person who doesn't know about their life, powers, or heritage would be trying to find out useful information. This book made me roll my eyes several times. it ends on a cliff hangar- and then there's an authors note that APOLOGIZES FOR THE CLIFF HANGAR AND SAYS THE NEXT BOOK WILL GET BETTER! so you know this book is bad?! The pacing of this book is very slow, and feels like it takes so long to get somewhere. I likewise dont understand the necessity of lewd the ghost sidekick. She doesnt add anything to the plot and serves instead as Violets inner monologue?
