Takes all the steps forward the characters have made since Vol 3 and swings back at them with consequences, this being the most emotionally rooted the violence has felt all series - it hurts all the more for it. Miura goes beyond depicting the horrific and chaotic of the battlefield, there's a genuine emotional corruption that finally hits a climax here, and it caps off one of the greatest character tragedies I can think of in fiction.

This was the most volatile deluxe edition so far. The choices these characters make at times... They all need therapy so bad. Sadly, they do not have time for that, and it does not seem to be getting any better. I am excited to get the next edition, and see how Guts deals with fate and his relationship with Griffith.
