She makes every mistake imaginable and is just stumbling through life trying to find herself. It’s a wonderful book about self discovery. It takes the entire book to figure out who she is but the book covers the entirety of her life and everyone she meets.  Beautiful ending :)

Olen omistanut tämän kirjan lähemmäs kaksi vuotta, ja lähemmäs kaksi vuotta se on kerännyt pölyä hyllylläni. En tiedä mistä syystä laiminlöin Kirken lukemista niin kauan, mutta nyt sen luettuani en pode siitä syyllisyyttä; en ymmärrä tämän kirjan keräämää ”hypeä”.
Ei sillä, että en olisi nauttinut sen lukemisesta, olisin vain kaivannut jotain lisää? Ehkä enemmän syvyyttä henkilöhahmoihin? Muistan, että minulle jäi samanlainen fiilis luettuani Akhilleen laulun; hahmot jäivät etäisiksi ja yhdentekeviksi.
Kirke on kuitenkin kiistämättä hyvin kirjoitettu ja mielenkiintoinen moderni kertomus Kreikan mytologista. Oli miten oli, jos Madeline Miller kirjoittaa uusia Kreikan mytologiaan pohjautuvia kirjoja, tulen mitä luultavammin lukemaan niistä jokaisen.

Circe is an incredible character and I really liked her development throughout the story, so I really recommend it!
