Without Reservations is the first book in the With or Without series by J. L. Langley. Chayton “Chay” Winston is a veterinarian. He is also a werewolf. Since the beginning he has told his mother he will marry a blonde princess. Keaton Reynolds is attacked. Shot at while in wolf form, he gets hit and is brought to Chay’s practice by the game warden, who is pack. Chay immediately realizes they are mates. So does Keaton once he wakes up. The biggest issue is Chay is straight. Chay is ready to mate with Keaton however he needs to persuade Keaton he does not care about his gender. Can they work?

Chay is really sweet. He comes off as perfect and understanding. He and Keaton make the perfect couple. I love how fascinated Keaton is with Chay’s native heritage. The nickname little bit is hilarious and somehow fits Keaton.

I have read this book multiple times and it was one of the first series I bought; it has to be one of my favourites. The characters are well thought out and the story line is original. I honestly can read this book every few months and not get sick of it. One of the biggest things I love is while this book is obviously about shifters, there is no alpha/beta/omega dynamic, except the alpha and his betas who help run the pack. While Chay is a strong wolf, Keaton’s wolf is stronger and that is mentioned.

I am honestly just a sucker for any kind of werewolf/fated mates trope so in my biased opinion I kinda enjoyed it!

Compared to the other books that got 3 stars from me, this doesn't deserve the rating in the slightest. But it still gets it. Because I didn't start reading it expecting an excellent novel with well-rounded characters and plausible plotlines. I expected a predictable plot, with the only purpose of getting the two characters together as quickly as possible so they could have lots of sex. And that's exactly what I got. So three stars it is. A fun, quick read, but not the best book in the world. :)

I really liked this book. It was a nice fluffy read with elements of suspense and great characters. It's widely recognised as a good read, so that doesn't surprise me, but I'm glad to have experienced that for myself!

The only issue I have is with Remi and Chay's Mum. Prejudice is not something that is gotten over quickly or easily, and there's no explanation of how the two have managed to deal with this, or signs of a slow awakening or anything. Instead there's just a sudden act or announcement that shows that they have accepted Chay and Keaton. Things like that irritate me, because they bring down credibility and the realism of the book.
On the whole though, it's a great read and I will definitely be reading it again!!

A wonderful shifter GFY romance! I really liked the world-building and how the author wrote the whole fated mates angle. Chay has his work cut out for him, getting over his own shock at finding such an unexpected mate and persuading Keaton to give them a chance. Keaton is a firecracker, quick to jump to conclusions, easy to anger, but he grew on me as the story progressed.

There’s an element of suspense as well, which was very well written, with the author throwing the reader for a loop as to where the danger is actually coming from.
Despite this being a paranormal story, it still has elements of (sadly) real life prejudice and homophobia, which brought added depth to the story.

I enjoyed getting to know some of the secondary characters, especially Remi. I do love me a good redemption story and he definitely has potential for one of those.
