It's not a great sign when the main character is only involved in about 25% of the book. The first books in this series are great, but the last few have fallen off. This book was a lot more talking and planning and a lot less action.

I loved the ending of this book but I have to say the middle lost me a few times when we were jumping around to each squadron or fleet.

Another in the series that I adore. Can't get enough of the space opera universe that David Weber has created with a strong female lead. This series is definitely a keeper.

I'm a big fan of the Harrington series. David Weber tells a great story and his battle descriptions are better than most. As a reader, you're constantly moved between what's going on inside the Manticore Alliance, the People's Republic of Haven and with Honor and her team stuck on the prison planet Hades.
I don't want to give anything away, but the final scene is worth the time reading the entire story. It's rare for a sci-fi author to make 3-dimensional characters but he does so with Honor and in this series.

It was okay. Too long for the content, not enough Honor. Formulaic plot structure, but if you're this far into the series you can probably deal with that.

I would have liked this book to focus a bit more on Honor and not so much what was happening at home. But it was a daring escape, 100% of what I would expect from Honor.
