i liked it (obviously since im giving it 4.5 stars) HOWEVERRRR i feel like there was some lost potential in this one. there could’ve been a lot more. still cute and fun, but kinda thought it was gonna pack more of a punch.

ok wow i cant believe i finished. let me start by saying i'm going to miss chestnut springs so much!!! i love them all so much.

now.... beau and bailey. not a big fan. bailey was very annoying to me. the fact that we mentioned the age gap sooo much (not a fan of the 13 year age gap anyway) even towards the end of the book annoyed me. some of bailey's dialogue really made me cringe / annoyed me as well. she honestly seemed so naive but sometimes mature? this inconsistency made me think she was more 18 than 22. idk how beau found this attractive

The first half of this was a bit rough, and hard to really get into. While I was hoping to like Beau, I had a hard time with his saviour complex and his age gap with Bailey. I just wasn't as drawn to him as the other MMCs, although it was fulfilling to see him come alive again.

I loved Bailey though, and her character development was really fun to read. I loved that she broke out of the town's expectations and her love story with Beau still has her following her dreams in the end.

The best part of this novel however was seeing the glimpses of our other Chestnut springs characters and their life updates (Cade and Willa's wedding🥹, Sloane's pregnancy etc).

First things first: I love Beau. And I love him and Bailey together. And I really liked their story, so that being said…

It saddens me beyond words that this isn’t a 5⭐️ I was looking forward to Beau’s book for soo long and then it finally comes out and (don’t get me wrong it was good) but it just wasn’t a top notch read… it’s just…I got a bit bored in the middle and I was sad because I wanted it to be one of my top reads of this year.

On another note
I have loved this series and I’m sad to see it end. I can’t wait to see what Elsie has in store for all of us in the future.
Reading every piece of Elsie’s work is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and I’m very excited to read more

Whilst this was still a fun read - I enjoyed the cameos of the rest of the Eaton family - the plot felt rushed and the age gap completely unnecessary, it was brought up too many times. I did like the ending of Bailey pursuing her dreams that she had before Beau.
