Please please please check the TW. I think this may of been one of the darkest books I’ve read. Dean and Cora’s story was one that you really personally I felt had to just go in blind. Not really know the whole premise of what happens in the book. First thing I will say is personally I didn’t think it was needing to be that long because at times I forgot at what happened at the beginning of the book. Even though that was the main reason Dean and Cora really came closer. I didn’t fully connect with these characters and I am not saying they are bad characters at all, they are very well developed characters. They both were open when you got their POVS. I wish I got more Dean’s POV in the third part because I would have loved more of their relationship. I enjoyed seeing them back in the day and how they may of not liked each other but there were underlying feelings. I think overall the development with the plot and characters were amazing and I enjoyed that aspect. There were parts where I was shocked, and moments I was confused at certain things. I enjoyed the ending felt a little rushed the last two chapters but it was still a nice wrap up. If you’re gonna read this check TW, and possibly go in blind like I did.

cora and dean, two life long enemies and soon to being brother/sister in laws get kidnapped and forced to do horrible things for 3 weeks (TW: SA, suicide) and once they beat the odds and escape they are forced to reacclimatize to life. Except now they’ve fallen in love. A book of loss, love, despair, and an ode to mental healing Cora and Dean learn how to love after surviving the horrors being trapped in a basement.

“What do we do now?”
“I’m not sure, Corabelle. All I know is that I want to kiss you more than I want air.”

This book killed me in the best way! Was my heart breaking 90% of the book? Yes. Would I do it again? Absolutely! This book is extremely dark so checking trigger warnings is a must, but it is 100% worth it.

I usually don't give books more than a 4 or write reviews but oml this book was so so so good. I pulled an all nighter for this book and it was 100% worth it. This book crushes your heart taking it out of your body and the rejoins it so beautifully that it's all worth it. Dean is so amazing. He is so soft and strong. The things he does for her in the basement is literally so gut wrenchly beautiful. And when he leaves. I was so heart broken for Cora. She is so strong. I loved the tattoo so much like. The necklace too. I love that line so much. Still beating. I battled depression and sucical thoughts and have been through many SAs. This book just made so much sense to me and it felt raw. And Mathew and Tabitha's story was so beautiful as well. Ik he isn't real but I believe he is looking down at Hope and Tabitha feeling impressly proud.

READ THIS BOOK IT IS TOTALLY WORTH!!!!
